A responsible approach to packaging involves implementing all opportunities to avoid packaging and ensuring the use of recyclable, recycled and certified materials to reduce the impact of disposal. In this context, we subscribe to the Portuguese Plastics Pact and are committed to using certified cardboard and paper so as not to contribute to the deforestation of threatened virgin and ancient forests. In our logistics chain there is a clear awareness of more sustainable practices, and therefore, we annually implement new strategies to reduce inputs. In 2021 we completely eliminated the use of plastic in our denim product logistics chain. The elimination of plastic implies the circulation of our garments in perfect condition between our suppliers, warehouses, stores, and customers without the use of any plastic bag or packaging and using a simple reusable elastic strap. Furthermore, we constantly launch innovative measures such as replacing the use of plastic film with nylon thread in the storage and transport of boxes or the development of a shoe box with an extendable strap that avoids the need for shopping bags or ecommerce shipping bags. The implementation of these measures allows for annual savings of 35 tons of plastic and 176 tons of paper and cardboard. |

We aim for the responsible usage of raw materials, through the gradual increase in usage of more sustainable materials. We increasingly want to include recycled raw materials in our value proposition. Currently, all our nylon accessories (such as wallets) are made from recycled polyamide and polyester and the filling in our puffer jackets comes entirely from recycled plastic (REPREVE®). We signed SONAE Group’s “Zero Deforestation” commitment to ensure that all fibers from forests are certified. All our paper and cardboard packaging is FSC and PEFC certified. By 2027, all of our cellulosic raw material will be Lenzing and cowhide will be 100% certified by the Leather Working Group, which allows full traceability, from origin to final finishes. We respect animal care and therefore ensure that no harm is caused to any living being during the production process. Our commitment to animal welfare goes beyond our internal practices: we are attentive to our entire supply chain, rigorously selecting animal welfare standards. We are constantly evolving to ensure that all animal materials are purchased from responsible sources, reinforcing our commitment to a more ethical and sustainable future. |
Circularity research – LIMITED EDITIONSAs a company, we believe that every action and measure we take can contribute positively to environmental impacts and that is why our teams seek daily to test new solutions in raw materials, design and production techniques that could be integrated into our collections in the future, creating new production standards. We regularly launch limited editions that allow us to test the viability of these new solutions with consumers. |

ED002_BIODENIMThe Bio Denim project has produced a collection of 100% biodegradable pieces, consisting of three jeans models – two for women and one for men – and a unisex jacket. These pieces are the result of almost 4 years of research and development, in search of the materials and production techniques that allow us to bring to market what, as far as we know, will be the first 100% biodegradable jeans and denim jacket without the need for component removal. Developed with carefully selected materials, the edition includes pieces made entirely of cotton or with a small percentage of elastane, ensuring greater elasticity/flexibility, and designed to facilitate biodegradability. 100% cotton stitching, biodegradable buttons with 75% organic material, embroidery, labels, and linings in sustainable cotton complete the design, ensuring uniformity and a commitment to sustainability. The pieces have undergone rigorous testing by Bureau Veritas, a leading inspection and certification body. Following the international standard EN 13432, the tests confirmed the biodegradability and compostability of the materials. At the end of their useful life, the pieces can be composted in suitable environments, where moisture, oxygen, heat, and microorganisms transform them into nutrients for the soil. The commercial launch of this limited edition will allow us to test, with our customers, the attractiveness and functionality of these pieces so that we can together draw firm conclusions that will then allow us to continuously improve the production of our current products. |
