Care to be taken with your black jeans: how to wash them.

Black jeans are very likely to fade if they aren’t washed and cared for properly. If you want your black fabrics to stay as good as new, without changing colour, there are some steps you should take to ensure the maximum of care. Before the first wash, set the dye as follows:

  • Put your black jeans in a container of cold water.
  • Add a cup of vinegar.
  • Add a little salt.
  • Take out your jeans.

When you’ve done this, you can wash your dark jeans in the washing machine as usual. We’ll tell you how!

Seven tips for washing your black jeans properly

Wash your jeans with other clothes. When you wash different clothes together, the fabrics fade less. What’s important is to wash clothes of the same shade or colour together. If you're washing black jeans, make sure you wash them with other dark clothes to avoid staining if the colour runs. Never wash black jeans with white clothes!

Wash the jeans at a low temperature. By using the lowest possible washing temperature, you can prevent the colours in our fabrics from running.

Machine_icon

Use a low spin speed. If your washing machine has a programme for delicate clothes or a hand wash cycle, we recommend using these.

4. Wash your jeans inside out. Turn your jeans inside out before putting them in the washing machine. This is a good habit to acquire whenever you’re washing your jeans.

Machine_icon

Don’t wash them very often. We recommend washing denims approximately every six weeks and if they’re stained, use a specific stain remover. We don't recommend washing them very often because they’ll wear out faster.

Machine_icon

Don't dry them in direct sunlight. Sunlight is very harmful to fabrics and colours. So, we recommend not drying them in places where there is direct sunlight.

Machine_icon

Use the dryer as little as possible. We don’t recommend using the dryer very often and, when you do, select the lowest temperature possible.

By following this advice, you’ll be able to make your dark fabrics last much longer and stay in perfect condition, like on the very first day. Don't forget!
