In 2017, we decided to donate 25,000 pieces of clothing to a Portuguese non-profit organization in order to help families in need. However, shortly after the donation, we were notified that part of the clothes were on sale at an illegal store, in the center of the country.
that never happened!
They started selling the pieces we donated, and nothing was sent to the ones who really needed them. Soon enough the police entered the scene, the media started talking about it and we got to court.
The verdict was clear: the ONG was considered guilty and we, at Salsa, were supposed to destroy all the pieces. We were not happy with that decision so we fought back and were finally allowed to donate the clothes to people who still need them!
Five years later, our gift will finally being gifted to the Red Cross organization. Maybe someone did it wrong in the first place but that’s our lesson for today: never stop believing that sooner rather than later,
